Part time swim instructors are needed for individual and group lessons. Mornings, evenings, and/or Saturdays. Water Safety Instructor preferred, but will consider experienced instructors. Candidates who have experience working with children will also be considered. A background check & drug screen will be performed.

Senior Summer Camp Counselors
The Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department is hiring summer camp senior counselors.
Description
Counselors supervise campers on a day to day basis for on/off site activities and plan, implement and evaluate daily activities for campers. Work activities are conducted at the Community Center and White Horse Park, Sports Core Pool, Swim and Racquet Club Pool, Mumford's Landing Pool, and weekly field trips. Weekly work schedule is normally 45 hours in duration, and requires work at Annual 4th of July Celebration and optional extra hours for Rec & Parks Concert Series, Movie Nights, and Family Fun Nights.

Duties
- Supervision of campers, including discipline problems, injuries, sicknesses, etc.
- Design and schedule weekly camper activities, for Camp Director's review.
- Clean up activity areas daily, including outside areas, kitchen and storage room.
- Uphold camp rules, regulations, procedures and policies during on/off site activities.
- Work as a team player with other staff to plan camp special events including as end of season field day, opening and closing ceremonies, etc.
- Communicate directly with camper's & parents, regarding behavior and progress of camper.
- Act as liaison between campers and camp director.

Skills/Qualifications
- Must be high school graduate or GED equivalent, with some college training or experience working with children.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or 17 year old high school graduate
- Ability to effectively work with public and read, clearly speak, and concisely write the English language.
- Must perform physically related duties such as lifting objects up to and including 20 pounds in weight, short distance walking, standing, running, stooping and sitting.
- Must be comfortable in and around water such as swimming pools, water slides, and ocean.
- Ability to work with children and adults in a patient and caring manner.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check screening.
Lifeguards - Seasonal and Year-Round

Must be skilled in swimming, rescue work, resuscitation, and giving first aid. Must have the ability to recognize emergencies and take appropriate action to control them. Good physical strength and sufficient strength and skill technique to control struggling adult swimmers. Must have successfully completed American Red Cross Life Guarding Course or nationally recognized agency and possess all current certification cards.

The lifeguard will perform specialized work in the environment of regulations and protection of lives at the Ocean Pines community swimming pools. This position is responsible for the enforcement of all pool rules and maintaining reasonable state of discipline and behavior to ensure a safe, secure environment. Lifeguards will be rescuing swimmers who might be in distress. Lifeguards are tasked with general cleaning of the facilities. This position works 30 hours a week with 40 hours weekly available in the summer. This position starts at $14 per hour. Currently licensed Pool Operators start at $15 per hour.

The Ocean Pines Golf Maintenance Department is accepting applications for the position of Laborer. This is a seasonal position. There is some weekend work required. A pre-employment background/drug screening will be performed and must be passed.
The golf course is an 18-hole facility that was designed by Robert Trent Jones, and the position will be assisting with our golf course maintenance.
Responsibilities include working in a variety of capacities, such as, but not limited to, mowing greens, tees, fairways and roughs; raking bunkers, divot repair, trim work, and debris clean up.
No previous golf course experience required. Looking for motivated individual who doesn’t mind working outside in the weather.

Qualifications include graduation from high school or GED equivalent with some experience in the Public Works field preferred; ability to effectively read, speak, and write the English language, and otherwise demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills on the job; maintain a valid and current driver’s license (class C minimum) and demonstrate safe, dependable and efficient driving practices and operation of equipment on the job; must perform fine hand control procedures and physically related duties such as lifting objects up to and including 60 pounds of weight, short/long distance walking, climbing, standing, stooping, and sitting; effective audio-visual discrimination and perception to make quick and accurate observations; and hearing sufficient to detect abnormal equipment operation and alarms.
