Comcast Update: Jan. 18

Comcast this week continues to work on infrastructure in several areas of Ocean Pines.
Comcast has also announced that addresses in Sectors 1-5 have been loaded into Comcast’s system and those customers can now start placing orders for service (marked in green in the map below). Orders can be placed and installation scheduled at xfinity.com by shopping by product or “All Deals.”
Residents can call 1-800-XFINITY (934-6489) from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, to learn more about Xfinity TV, Internet and phone services, or to request their outside service line. Installing an outside service line is free and will prepare customers for services, when they decide to sign up.
Residents may also visit the Xfinity Store in Ocean City at 8301 Coastal Highway. The store is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays. Additionally, Comcast representatives will continue knocking on doors in Ocean Pines, working through several sectors as their service area grows with new infrastructure installation.
Solicitations will continue throughout the next several weeks.
According to Comcast, representatives are required to wear face coverings and sanitize hands frequently, and must keep at least 6 feet of distance when speaking with residents. Representatives will never enter a resident’s home, even if invited inside.
Comcast said representatives would “specifically target potential subscribers whose addresses have been verified as ready for service.”
Residents may speak face to face with a Comcast representative, or have a virtual consultation if they are uncomfortable with in-person interaction.
Ocean Pines consulted the Worcester County Health Department on the matter, and the Health Department emphasized the importance of wearing masks and keeping at least 6 feet of distance.
The Association is not aware of any restrictions in Ocean Pines’ governing documents that forbid the solicitation.
