OPA’s amenities drive favorable operating budget

OPA once again produced a favorable operating budget variance for the month of November 2024, bringing the year-to-date positive operating variance to approximately $570,000. The year-to-date results were driven by the strong performance of OPA’s amenities during the summer season.

Golf’s performance is leading the way, up through November approximately $180,000 versus the budget and $110,000 versus last year.

Total net revenues account for approximately $326,000 in favorability versus the budget to date. While generating these excess revenues, OPA still was able to save and effectively manage expenses, which is demonstrated by the year-to-date favorable variance of expenditures amounting to approximately $244,000.

Finance is currently working on the preparation of the General Manager’s proposed budget, which will be released prior to the end of December. The Budget and Finance committee has meetings scheduled for Jan. 2 and 3 to review the budget materials, and the Board of Directors will be meeting to review the budget on Jan. 8 and 9 of the following week.
