This Week at the Farmers & Artisans Market: May 20

Hang Out at the Market this Memorial Day Weekend

It’s a three-day weekend, welcoming the return of summer. How will you make the best of your Memorial Day weekend? Get to the Farmers & Artisans Market, where all weekends begin in Ocean Pines!

Local produce, fresh ingredients and unique hand-crafted goods are what the Ocean Pines Farmers & Artisans Markets are all about! The Market is proud to provide access to fresh, healthy food, which is why there will be two market days this summer. Shop at the Saturday market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the mid-week Wednesday Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning June 5.

For more than just edible goods, head to the Artisans and Peddlers sections of the market where you’ll find some of the shore’s most talented residents. Live music on the Market stage, artist demonstrations, kids activities, educational speakers and other events happen all summer long.

No matter the season, this is the market for everyone! Check out more reasons to hang out at the market below.

Shopping

There are nearly 200 permanent and rotating merchants selling eggs, locally raised beef, pork, poultry, lamb, smoked and fresh Alaskan salmon and other seafood. There are also baked goods, honey, pickles, cheeses, jams, jellies and hot sauces. And of course there’s the full rainbow of local and regionally grown produce, flowers and handmade artisan goods.

Activities & Events

The market is as much a classroom as it is a market. Free cooking demonstrations are held every Saturday at 10 a.m. featuring items sourced at the market. Often the Open-Air Market Kitchen will welcome featured guest chefs and take on fun themes. Printed recipes are available.

The marketplace is a wondrous, one-stop keyhole into our Delmarva people, culture and, of course, food. Shop local and stop each market day at the Ocean Pines Farmers & Artisans market this summer!
