Ocean Pines Golf Club offers guidance on cart path usage

(May 4, 2020) Area residents who have been taking advantage of the opportunity to walk, jog and ride their bikes at Ocean Pines Golf Club during its temporary closure are reminded to obey some simple guidelines as they utilize the cart path.

Ocean Pines Golf Club General Manager John Malinowski said he's happy that people are able to use the cart path for exercise during COVID-19 quarantining. However, in order to avoid damaging the course's turf, he asks that people stay on the path only.

Additionally, those who walk their dogs are asked to clean up after their pets and to dispose of any waste at home as there are currently no trash cans on the course.

Malinowski said that allowing residents to use the course for walking, running and biking is temporary; once the golf course reopens for play people will no longer be allowed on the course unless they are registered players.

"Golf will probably open up in the next couple of weeks," Malinowski said. "Once that happens, we'll go back to restricting the cart path to golfers only."
