Ocean Pines Craft Club to host ribbon cutting, May 22

(April 27, 2021) The Pine'eer Craft Club of Ocean Pines will host a ribbon-cutting event for the new Artisan Gift Shop on Saturday, May 22 at 9 a.m.  

Craft Club members opened the new building in winter 2020, but issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic prevented a ribbon cutting from occurring at that time.  

The event on May 22, cohosted by the Ocean Pines Association and Ocean Pines Chamber of Commerce, will feature a short speech from Craft Club President Sharon Puser and light refreshments. The club will also display a photo album with news clippings that highlight the history of the organization.  

The Pine’eer Artisan Gift Shop was established in 1974 and the organization behind it has a long history of giving back to the community, having donated more than $169,000 over the years to Ocean Pines Police, Public Works, and Recreation and Parks, among other groups.  

In 2020, the club donated $3,500 to the Ocean Pines Police Department, Fire Department, Recreation and Parks Department, Public Works, and the Worcester County Veteran’s Memorial.  

Club members create and sell a wide variety of items, including woodworking, candles, pottery, jewelry, home décor, and all manner of sewn, crocheted and knitted items. All items are made locally, and most are made in Ocean Pines.  

The new building, in White Horse Park and across from the Administration Building on 239 Ocean Parkway in Ocean Pines, is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
