Ocean Pines Health Fair canceled, eyes return next year

(Aug. 31, 2020) The Ocean Pines Association announced this week that it will not host the annual Ocean Pines Health Fair, because of concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  

The Health Fair is traditionally held each October in the Ocean Pines Community Center, with free health education and screenings from Atlantic General Hospital and Peninsula Regional Medical Center.  

Indoor event restrictions and social distancing concerns were a factor in the cancelation.  

“After much thought and discussion on how we can make this possible, it just doesn't seem as though we will be able to facilitate the Health Fair this year,” Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Director Debbie Donahue said. “We just would not be able to offer the same type of event that people are used to, and I would hate to cut back on things and it not be the same as we have always produced.  

“I look forward to having this event in 2021,” Donahue added.
