T-ball, soccer return for the fall

The Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department is bringing back its youth soccer and t-ball programs for the fall. They will be modified to meet CDC guidelines.

Families of children participating in both sports will be asked to practice social distancing and remain 6 feet apart from non-family members. All equipment disinfecting practices will be managed by Ocean Pines, and participants will only use the ball given to them at each practice.

Happy Cleats Soccer for boys and girls ages 2-3 will be held from 5:15-5:45 p.m. at Somerset Park, located on Sloop Lane in Ocean Pines. Two-year-olds will meet on Tuesdays beginning Sept. 8; three-year-olds will meet on Thursdays beginning Sept. 10. 

The cost for the six-week session is $40 for Ocean Pines residents and $50 for non-residents.

Pee Wee Soccer for boys and girls ages 4-8 will be held from 6-6:45 p.m. at Somerset Park. Ages 4-5 will meet on Tuesdays starting Sept. 8. Ages 6-8 will meet on Thursdays beginning Sept. 10. Shin guards are recommended but not required.

The cost for the six-week session is $45 for Ocean Pines residents and $55 for non-residents.

T-ball for boys and girls ages 4-6 will meet on Tuesdays Sept. 15-Oct. 6 from 5:15-6 p.m. at the Manklin Meadows ball field. Children should bring their own gloves.

The cost for the session is $25 for Ocean Pines residents and $30 for non-residents.
