Yacht Club Receives Approval From Planning Commission!

November 2, 2012

For Immediate Release:

OCEAN PINES, MD – Worcester County Planning Commission has given the green light to the design and site plan of a new Yacht Club facility in Ocean Pines.  The Planning Commission on November 1, 2012 approved plans for Ocean Pines Association’s new Yacht Club facility in the Ocean Pines Community.   The next step is to obtain a building permit which should occur sometime within the next 30 days.

Once completed, the new facility will provide multiple waterfront dining areas along with space for special events and catering.   Located in the heart of the largest year round residential community in the county, the new facility will be strategically located between the two swimming pools and marina for maximum enjoyment by all.

The project is headed up by the Board of Directors and the General Manager, Bob Thompson, who all worked hard to pass the referendum, proposed to the membership this summer. “Our new Yacht Club is long overdue and has been a culmination of a lot of work and effort from many people to get us where we are today.  We are excited about the progress we have made and are looking forward to the construction phase of the project to begin” stated Thompson.

Construction should begin sometime within the next 2 months.  The Harkins Construction team is expecting construction of the new facility to take 12 months.
