WAYS YOU CAN FIGHT THE BITE!  
Learn ways to prevent disease spread by mosquitoes.
  1. Empty and change water in bird baths, fountains, wading pools, rain barrels and potted plant trays once a week.
  2. Get rid of standing water in rain gutters, old tires, buckets, plastic covers, toys, trash containers, and even bottle caps once a week.
  3. Make sure window and door screens are “bug tight”.
  4. Use and EPA-registered insect repellent, follow product directions.

Ocean Pines Racquet Tournament for Charity
August 26th (rain date Aug. 27th)
Come play pickleball, tennis and platform tennis on Friday, August 26th and enjoy a wonderful morning with other racquet sports enthusiasts, raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)

Bavarian Hops 7th Tee Box Party
Friday, August 26   4:00-6:00 pm @ OP Golf & Country Club
72 Golfers-some good and some otherwise-will tee it up and play a fun match to support Diakonia and the Worcester County Humane Society.  Each group will come by the 7th Hole in hopes of landing their ball closest to the pin.  Our job is to provide some good old fashioned cheering and encouragement as we relax and enjoy the afternoon. Neighbors, golfers, tennis players, non-golfers, are all welcome as everyone has some fun and supports the cause.  To get there simply come to the Country Club and ask for a shuttle ride to the 7th Tee Box Party.  You can BYO drink, and you are welcome to bring some party food to share.  We will take care of all the rest. Shuttle service from the Ocean Pines Clubhouse begins at 3:00 from the cart area.

Women’s Club of Ocean Pines Meeting

At this first meeting of the new membership year, 2016-18 officers will be installed. America’s Boating Course

$15 per person / free for middle & high school students
Ocean City Power Squadron will present this eight-hour course. A safe boating class is required of anyone born after July 1, 1972 to operate a recreational vessel or personal watercraft in the state of Maryland. The course will cover basic boat handling, navigation, federal and state regulations, rules of the road, aids to navigation, required equipment and much more. Registration will begin at 6:30 pm on September 1; the course will follow at 7:00 pm on Thursdays through September 22. The exam will be held on September 29.
