ROAD TRIMMING TO BEGIN ON THE PARKWAY
Starting Monday, February 9, 2015, Ocean Pines Association has contracted a licensed Tree expert to trim trees along both sides of Ocean Parkway and the Median from the North Gate to the entrance to the Point. The objective is to elevate trees to a height of 15-20 feet and cut back long, low hanging limbs over the Parkway to improve esthetics and accessibility for trucks.  All material trimmed will be chipped and cleaned up. The chips will be dumped in the Public Works yard. For additional information please call Eddie Wells, Director of Ocean Pines Public Works 410-641-7425 or email ewells@oceanpines.org

COMMUNITY CORNER TENT

taking reservations for our Community Corner Tent for the 2015 market year.  This is a great way to introduce your nonprofit or service group to the farmers’ market shoppers.  The Community Corner can be used for membership drives, fund raising (excluding bake sales) or to hold a demonstration.

VOLUNTEER AT MARKET

The Friends of the Ocean Pines Farmers Market is our volunteer group.  As a volunteer you could have the opportunity to rub elbows with our farmers and learn more about local agriculture, hob-knob with the bakers for inside secrets to their best recipes or just make new friends with others interested in supporting the farmers market.  Volunteer opportunities are available at any level of commitment and hours are flexible. To find out more, you can stop by our Information booth any Saturday orsee Volunteer Coordinator or email her: TraceyHofman@aol.com.

VENDOR OPPORTUNITIES

 BAZAAR VENDOR OPENINGS –

ARTISAN BAKER – ARTISAN VENDOR CALL – Artist and Crafters, you’re invited to participate as a vendor at the 2015 Ocean Pines Farmers Market.  The market is becoming a Saturday morning cultural centerpiece to the Maryland Eastern Shore community by embracing artisan market vendors.  Alongside the traditional farmers market vendors, shoppers now look for artisans selling jewelry, beading, metalwork, photography, paintings, leather goods, carved wood pieces, textiles and other products from crafters and artists.

For vending information contact Market Manager David Bean atflavordrizzles@gmail.com or 410-251-6383

SEEKING MUSICIANS

The farmers market is seeking musicians to provide background music for our visitors as they shop the market.  Musicians provide casual performances at random assigned locations throughout the market.  Performers can open up their case for tips! If you are a musician who would like to share your music with others.

SPECIAL EVENTS

EASTER MARKET – Our Easter Farmers Market takes place on Saturday, April 4th from 8 am to 1 pm. Market shoppers will find the season’s freshest produce from our farmers for the Easter dinner table. Look for favorites like asparagus, strawberries, rhubarb, English peas, radishes, tender young greens and so much more. Our bakers will offer market shoppers Easter breads and baked goods to stuff into their market baskets. You’ll find flowers for the spring home and center pieces for the Easter dinner table. Don’t forget the eggs! Whether your coloring eggs for the Easter bunny to hide or making a custard pie; farmers will have plenty of eggs.
