This Saturday at The Ocean Pines Farmers Market!  8am – 1pm White Horse Park

Overtel Seafood will not be at this Saturday’s market.  The winter weather has taken its toll on their industry.  The recent frozen waters made it difficult to harvest and have affected market pricing.  I spoke with Tom this afternoon, and he’s hoping to return to market next week with oysters and clams.   Live blue crabs are coming this summer!

D. J. David & Company will have seasonal fresh produce. Market shoppers will find greens that include curly kale, escarole and Swiss chard.  Other produce will include a selection of potatoes, sweet potatoes, acorn and butternut winter squash, Brussel sprouts, beets, turnips, rutabagas, carrots, parsnips, green cabbage, mushrooms, shallots, scallions and onions.

Sweet Faith is becoming a favorite of many market shoppers.  In addition to their homemade cookies, they have a selection of vintage cookie jars that can be purchased.

Tyaskin Pasture Fresh Farm and Peter’s Artisan Bread will be at market.

During this time of year, many of our farmers are already working on the crops they will be bringing to the market later this year.  Seeds that were ordered in January are now being planted in greenhouses, so the plants will be ready to transplant into the fields/gardens in the near future.
