This event
is an informal social showcasing several of MCBP partnerships with other local
environment groups and inviting those with environmental interests to come out
and learn about these groups and opportunities.

The
groups include the Ocean Pines
Environment & Natural
Assets Advisory Committee
, the Lower Shore Land Trust (LSLT),
ESIMBA, Assateague Island Alliance (AIA), Ocean City Surfriders, and the Berlin
Library Sustainable Garden group, the Worcester County Garden Club, Tri County
Bird Club and the Oyster Recovery Partnership

The country
club will be offering happy hour drink prices and hors d’oeuvres to all
attendees.

This event
is a very simple and unstructured social aimed to introduce those interested in
their environment with local opportunities as well as an occasion to meet others
with a common interest to developed new ideas, discuss done deals and maybe even
find moments of serendipity. It’s free and open to the public.

SHARING SUNDAY
COMING UP FEB 17TH! Southside Fire Station

The Democratic Women’s
Club of Worcester County (DWC) will be collecting nonperishable food, paper
goods and grocery cards at the Ocean Pines South Side Fire Station from 1 – 3
PM. These “Sharing Sunday” donations are collected on the third Sunday of each
month. This collection will be given to Sarah’s Pantry at the Community Church
of Ocean Pines. For more information about DWC, call 410-641-6683.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary
Flotilla 12-05 in Ocean City is offering the Maryland Basic Boating Course at
the Ocean Pines Library on the evenings of Tuesday, Feb. 19th, Wednesday, 20th,
and Thursday, 21st, 2013. This course meets the requirements of the Maryland
Boating Safety Education Act that requires that anyone born after July 1, 1972
must possess a Maryland Basic Boating Safety Certificate to operate a boat in
the state of Maryland. In order to receive this certificate, one must attend all
three nights and pass a written exam on the last night. The three evening course
will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end no later than 9:00 p.m. each evening.
Discussions will include local water knowledge, piloting, knots, boat terms,
trailering, maintenance & more. Cost for the course is $15.00 and includes
all course materials. Anyone 16 yrs. and under the cost is $10.00.

WORCESTER COUNTY TEA PARTY will meet on THURSDAY, February 21, 2013 at the Ocean
Pines Community Center. Special guest speakers will be WORCESTER COUNTY SHERIFF
REGGIE MASON and WORCESTER COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY BEAU OGLESBY.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm,
the meeting will start at 7:00 pm. All interested citizens are invited to
attend.

The Pine’eer Craft Club of
Ocean Pines will hold its first meeting of the new year in the Community Center
at 9:45 a.m. Following the business meeting, members will make heart earrings
in red, pink or crystal color. The $5 years dues will also be collected. All
residents of the Ocean Pines Community are invited, as well as residents in
close proximity to the Ocean Pines area. Refreshments will be
served.

“County Commissioner Judy Boggs’ first Town Meeting of
2013 is scheduled for
Saturday, Feb. 23, 10:00 a.m., at the Ocean
Pines Library. Guest speaker
will be Dr. Jerry Wilson, new
Superintendent of the Worcester County School
System. A “surprise
guest” is also expected. Issues to be discussed include
natural
gas, development on Rt. 589 and many other issues of interest to Ocean
Pines

and northern Worcester County.’

The Ocean City Power Squadron (OCPS) will present the all new
America’s Boating Course at the Worcester County Library, Ocean Pines Branch,
11107 Cathell Road, Ocean Pines, on Tuesday evening, February26. 2013
Registration is at 6:30 PM followed by the first class at 7PM the same evening.
This is an eight hour course, 7PM to 9PM each evening.. ANYONE BORN AFTER July
1, 1972 must satisfactorily complete a safe boating class to operate a
recreational vessel or personal watercraft (PWC) in the State of MD. This
course covers basic boat handling, navigation, Federal and State regulations,
rules of the road, aids to navigation, required equipment and much more.
This course is free. There is a nominal charge for course

WORCESTER CHORALE – SINGERS WANTED – Calling all
singers to join the Worcester Chorale as we begin rehearsals for our May
concerts. We will be getting ready to present “A Night at the Movies,” which
will consist of a variety of popular songs from the cinema. The Worcester
Chorale is fortunate to have two very talented musicians, Billie Wall and June
Todd, as our director and accompanist.

The Worcester Chorale rehearses on Wednesday evenings from
7:00 to 9:00 at the Atlantic United Methodist Church on 4th Street in Ocean
City, Maryland. Our spring rehearsals begin on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. If
you’ve been thinking about getting into a singing group, now is the time, and we
are the group!
