Jamming Down on the Farm – As the berries of summer are harvested, the farmhouse kitchen at Stag Run Farm gets busy with the making of homemade jams and jellies. Large pots of simmering blueberry, blueberry Lime and black raspberry jam are being ladled into jars, processed and labeled. Named after the farmer’s daughter, “Chrissy Bee’s Jams and Jellies” from Stag Run Farm will be at the market this Saturday.
New at D.J. David & Company – Jake and Amos Apple Butter BBQ Sauce is an all-natural, flavorful sauce made with a combination of sweet apples, tomato paste, vinegar, mustard, and other spices that will give your dishes a sweet, smoky taste. Use this sauce on your choice of fresh grilled meats or use it to make a delicious dish of baked beans.
The Harvest Continues – Plums are in season from Linda’s Backyard. Linda will be turning the plums into delicious jam that will be available this Saturday at market.
Independence Day Market July 4 – It’s time for a red, white and blue celebration! On July 4 join us from 8 am to 1 pm and stock up on everything you need for a star-spangled summer cookout. Fill you market basket with local sweet corn, tomatoes and all the offerings from our farmers. You’ll find beef, pork, poultry and lamb for the grill. Our bakers will have an unbelievable selection for your picnic table, and don’t forget to take home a bottle of Maryland wine. Our artisan vendors will have a wonderful selection of the most unique items for your shopping pleasure. Handmade soaps, candles, linens, jewelry, wood crafts and more will be in the market.
Dog Day of Summer July 18 – The Ocean Pines Farmers Market is teaming up with the Worcester County Humane Society to raise money to help our furry friends. We’re unleashing a list of guest vendors that will have everything you and the pup need for a dog’s life. Demonstrations will be offered throughout the day, and there will be chances to enter raffles to win great products and services for man’s best friend and his family. Soon we’ll be announcing a special guest appearance. Join us at the market’s Pooch Plaza for this event to help our furry friends!
Stone Fruits Celebration July 25 – Local peaches, nectarines, apricots and plums will be in season and at the farmers market for this mid-summer celebration! Our farmers will have baskets of your favorites to enjoy. The fruits will be featured by our bakers in pies, tarts, pastries, breads and more. Enjoy the fruits fragrance as our artisans prepare soaps, candles and more in favorite stone fruits essence.
Meet Me at the Market
July 4 – We welcome Holly Agnew of DoTerra Essential Oils for a make & take workshop. Holly is a market vendor selling DoTerra Essential Oils and Products. For this fun workshop participants will be making their own bath salts and then taking the salts home to enjoy. Learn about how essential oils are revolutionizing the way families clean their homes, do the laundry, cleanse, detoxify, and refresh their bodies. This Meet Me at the Market begins at 10 am and will last about one hour. No registration is required. The workshop will take place in the Artisan Cove Section of the farmers market (stop by the Market Information Booth for directions). A fee of $5 will be charged to cover the cost of materials for the workshop.
July 25 – Kim Kash, author of “Ocean City Lowdown: A Jamie August Novel” (2013) and the bestselling “Ocean City: A Guide to Maryland’s Seaside Resort” (2009) will be at the market from 10 am to 1 pm. She is currently working on the next installment in the Jamie August series and her new book in the “Ocean City Cover-up” series is scheduled to publish at the end of this June. Kids Market Zone
This Saturday at the Kids Market Zone the Crafting Crew will have a mystery box of items and will be making something fun with the kids.
Kids Market Zone activities are free! Activities begin at 9 am and are open to all children ages 3 to 14. The Holy Trinity Cathedral is host of the Ocean Pines Farmers Market’s Kids Market Zone.
