Fall is in the air at the Ocean Pines Farmers Market! This week’s market will feature pumpkin decorating, fall produce and decor items and live music. The market is open from 8 am to 1 pm this and every Saturday at White Horse Park. You’ll find local fresh produce, artisan breads, baked goods, handcrafted items, meats, seafood, pet treats, wine, soaps and much, much more. Vendor News – Local dairy products from Chesapeake Bay Farms have arrived at the Ocean Pines Farmers Market. The gals from Seashell Sweets are now your connection for farm-fresh milk, butter, ice cream and cheese. Seashell Sweets will have a limited amount of product on hand each market day, but if you’re interested in a larger amount or have a product questions, please message them on their Facebook page before Wednesday afternoons.
Fresh at Market – Fill your market basket with seasonal fresh produce such as lettuces, arugula, bok choy, kale, collards, cabbage, chard, apples, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, radishes, beets, carrots, turnips, and winter squash. Or decorate your home with mums, flowering cabbage, flowering kale, ornamental peppers, Indian corn, gourds and pumpkins of every size and shape.
Kids Market Zone – Pumpkin Palooza will invade the Kids Market Zone again this week! Ms. Vicki Lawrence and her pumpkin patch assistants will be crafting with kids between 9 am to 12 noon. Each child will choose a pumpkin and then decorate it with a variety of craft materials. This activity is open to all children between the ages of 3 and 14.
Community Corner Tent – Now your civic group, club or non-profit organization can be featured under our Farmers Market Community Corner Tent. Hold a fundraiser, sign up new members or offer a demonstration to market visitors. Town Cats will be under the tent on October 4. This nonprofit organization relies on volunteers to foster rescued kittens until they are adopted to a loving home. Town Cats is always in need of volunteers – stop by to learn how you can help or to make a donation.
Market Music – “Uke of Earl” Charlie Flagiello will be performing this week. And mark your calendars now for Open Mic on the Market Stage on October 18 from 10 am to 1 pm.
