Choptank Service Center Changes

The Regional Service Center Open to Membership!
SALISBURY – Choptank Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce that the Regional Service Center, located at 6520 Walston Switch Road, Salisbury, MD, will be open for business on June 20, 2016. At the new location members will be able to utilize a drop-box and a walk-in payment option. Michael Wheatley, President and CEO of Choptank Electric Cooperative said, “We are looking forward to opening this building for the membership. This new facility was built with the future of the lower Eastern Shore in mind.”
The architectural design and plans were by Davis, Bowen, and Friedel, Inc. of Salisbury and the project was contracted to Gillis Gilkerson Inc. also of Salisbury. The new property will also include an on-site linemen training facility to provide ongoing training opportunities for line crews as well as redundancy for key operational areas such as a Member Service Center and a System Control. The Cooperative is also seeking LEED Silver Certification and will have a solar field to help provide energy for the building.
The new location will combine the Salisbury and Berlin district offices, which will provide for a stronger and more flexible workforce, and overall long term cost savings. The kiosk located at the Ocean Pines Association will also still be available for all members. The existing district offices will close on June 17, 2016 at 4:30PM.
