Traffic restrictions are once again in place for the Ocean Parkway Bridge, located near Clubhouse Drive in Ocean Pines, as part of a $377,417 bridge rehabilitation project.
The bridge has been reduced to one lane today Thursday, April 27 until Friday evening, April 28. As work to the Ocean Parkway bridge moves into its final stretch, contract workers with the Salisbury-based company Murtech Inc. will begin concrete work. “Jersey walls” are being used to block travel during the operation. The two-day lane closure could be extended if weather interferes with construction.
Expect travel delays along the bridge during peak periods. Both lanes should be re-opened on Saturday, April 29.
The Ocean Pines Board of Directors voted unanimously to grant a contract to Murtech Inc. at its April 28 meeting.
The Ocean Pines Association is increasing the public’s awareness of emergencies through the use of its new ‘PinesAlerts’ notification system, which is being powered by the Delmarva Broadcasting Company. The alert system is now in place for anyone to sign up and begin receiving text message alerts from the association. To sign up, Ocean Pines residents and guests should text the word “PINES’ to 88474. Signup is free. Standard text message and data charges may apply.
