Ocean Pines 2017 Junior Golf Camp Registration

Children ages 5-14 will learn golf skills and to love the sport of a lifetime at our popular summer golf camps. Four sessions will be held in June, July and August.

SUP (Stand Up Paddle Boarding) Yoga @ Swim and Racquet Club Beach | Ocean Pines | Maryland | United States

Ditch the studio and let the board be your mat as you enjoy yoga while basking in the sunlight. The class combines stand up paddling and your favorite yoga routines and puts them on the water. Develop better balance, coordination and strength by linking your breath to poses. The class ends with a blissful relaxation on your board. The instructor will provide all equipment and basic SUP instruction. Minimum of two participants. Advanced registration is required; registration will close at 9pm the evening prior to each class. Presented by Walk on Water SUP Co.

 

Tennis Clinic: Stroke System of the Week @ Manklin Meadows Racquet Sports Complex
Jun 25 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

For adults ages 18 and up. These clinics will cover the following, with game play to reinforce all strokes:

Serves & Returns: Learn different service strokes and techniques for effectively returning the serve down the line and across court using effective groundstrokes.

Lobs & Overheads: Learn the offensive and the defensive lob as well as the overhead smash.

Effective Net Play (volley, spin, slice): Learn the strategy to spin and slice the ball for effective drop shots.

Youth Self-Defense Class Ages 7-9 @ Ocean Pines Community Center East Room
Jun 26 @ 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm

This class covers basic self-defense principles in an enjoyable, interactive class setting. Participants will learn punching, kicking and various defensive strategies used in martial arts while also building self-confidence, discipline and a sense of camaraderie with their peers. These fun classes will help kids lern the basic fundamentals of martial arts! Children should dress in comfortable athletic clothing and wear tennis shoes. Instructor: Brandon X. Yusuf, first-degree black belt.

Stroller Fit Bootcamp @ Somerset Park
Jun 26 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

This all-level workout is designed to allows moms and dads to get out of the house and exercise with their child in a fun, social environment. The workout incorporates bodyweight exercises and intervals using the stroller or facing the stroller or group. Designed to be kid-friendly as well, you don’t have to leave your child strapped into the stroller for the entire class. In fact, strollers are not mandatory! There is a playground in the park if you want to get some pre- or post-exercise play time.

Spring Co-Ed Softball League @ Manklin Meadows Ball Field
Jun 28 @ 6:30 pm

One team representative from each team must attend an organizational meeting on Thursday, April 27 at 6:00 pm at the Ocean Pines Community Center. A team deposit of $100 will be due at the meeting as well as a team roster.

Get your gloves and bats out and bring your friends together for a night of slow-pitch softball! Teams must have a minimum of 2 female players and all participants must be 18 years old. There will be 6 weeks of games and 2 more weeks to determine the champion. Individuals who would like to play may put their names on an individual roster that will be distributed to team representatives.
