National Night Out

Join the Ocean Pines Police Department for this community-building event on Aug. 7 from 5-7 p.m. at White Horse Park. The event promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Marked police vehicles will be on display and officers will meet and greet the public. Music, food and moon bounce!

Field Hockey Camp Ages 5-9 @ Huntington Park

For girls ages 5-9 with NCAA champion Caitlyn Wink. Girls will learn the  fundamentals or brush up on their skills. This camp emphasizes enjoying and appreciating the game while learning technical and tactical field hockey skills.

Ocean Pines Bay Estuary Explorers Camp @ Ocean Pines Community Center

Are you ready for an exciting exploration of our local watershed? This summer the energetic, professional staff of the Maryland Coastal Bays Program will be leading hands-on environmental activities in and around our coastal bays. Each day will be packed full of fun, with “explorers” participating in outdoor investigations including critter sampling, orienteering, watershed studies, forestry and nature art! We will even spend one day kayaking on the St. Martin River. In addition to the environmental activities, campers will also partake in team-building exercises throughout the week. At the end of each week, campers will leave with their brains full, their hands dirty and the knowledge to become great Coastal Bays stewards. Fee includes a magnifying glass and photo. Explorers are encouraged to bring shoes with a heel, boots, sunglasses, a reusable water bottle and sunscreen to camp each day. A bathing suit, towel, close-toed shoes and change of clothes are necessary on Thursdays.

Then stop, drop & roll – STOP at the Community Center, DROP off your children and ROLL out to enjoy the night! Your child will enjoy games, fun and crafts while hanging with friends. Call and pre-register to ensure you have a spot. For ages 4-15.

Tie Dye Workshop @ Ocean Pines Community Center

For all ages.  Bring your own pre-washed white or solid-colored t-shirt and your creativity and take a trip back to the 60s while we learn how to tie dye!  Basic tie-dying techniques will be taught, including folding, binding, wrapping and dipping.

This 3-day program will help kids build a foundation of knowledge, attitude and skills that are needed to be a responsible volunteer and future lifeguard.  Participants learn lifeguard skills, basic CPR and first aid, all while having a ton of fun!  Fee includes a t-shirt, whistle and first aid kit.  Snacks, drinks and a pizza dinner on Wednesday and Thursday.  Each program session consists of three evenings: Tuesday 4:30pm – 7:00pm, Wednesday, 5:30-8:00pm and Thursday, 4:30-7:00pm.

Net Generation Junior Tennis @ Manklin Meadows Racquet Sports Complex

For ages 8-17. Young tennis stars will learn technical strokes, serving and tennis court awareness, tactics and incorporating stroke variations as they play actual tennis games. they will also learn court positioning, scoring and strategy. Skills are reviewed as the students play their matches. Participants will be enrolled in USTA as full members, which allows them to believe in being part of a positive and welcoming environment for all youth players. By focusing on play, building character and championing individual challenges, we empower kids to grow and develop at their own pace. It’s all about providing players the opportunity to enjoy tennis on their own terms. Doubles play for beginners; singles play for intermediate and advanced players. $45 USTA registration fee included in fee.
