Construction is now underway on two bridges in Ocean Pines, one is located on Clubhouse Drive, the other on Ocean Parkway. Both bridges were built 50 years ago and are in need of repairs, according to a recent bridge report. Murtech Inc., a Salisbury-based company, has completed under bridge repairs and started sidewalk/railing replacement for Clubhouse Drive Bridge. On the clubhouse bridge project, we are 97% complete. We started both projects on 7/12/2016 and are set for completion on the Clubhouse Bridge on 4/17/2017 and the Ocean Parkway project with a TBD date of completion due to utilities and county problems. The Ocean Parkway Bridge is 60% complete.
Traffic is restricted to a single lane along Ocean Parkway, heading toward Mumford’s Landing in Ocean Pines. Construction workers with Murtech Inc. will work on one side of the bridge at a time. The Ocean Pines Board of Directors voted unanimously to grant a $377,417 contract to Murtech Inc. at its April 28 meeting.
