The national weather service has issued a coastal flood warning for Kent, Sussex, Worcester, & Accomack counties until 6 pm Sunday.
A coastal flood advisory will be in effect until 8 am Saturday for Dorchester, Wicomico, and Somerset counties.
A high wind warning will be in effect for Sussex County until 1 am Saturday. Winds could gust over 60 mph, most likely damaging property, trees, and power lines.
A wind advisory will be in effect for Kent & Sussex counties until 6 pm. Wind gusts well into the 40s could down trees and power lines.
Coastal flooding: moderate to major tidal flooding is expected through the weekend. Strong northeast winds will lead to a building surge…and 6 to 10 foot breaking waves at the beaches.
* Impacts: inundation of water in and near low-lying coastal areas could lead to road closures and significant flooding of property. The tides and wave action will likely result in beach erosion.
