The Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department has announced the winner of its 2014 annual raffle.
Michael Maclasky of Coatesville, Penn., held winning ticket no. 1918, which was drawn on Sept. 21 at 1146 Ocean Parkway, the site of the house built for the raffle by Brunori Homes. He and his parents, Dave and Deneen, were presented with the keys to the home this past weekend by OPVFD President Dan Healy.
Tickets were sold for $100 each. As the raffle winner, Maclasky could have also chosen $100,000 as his prize.
The OPVFD has also invited area residents to an open house on Tuesday, October 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the South Station. The open house was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 11 but has been changed due to unforeseen circumstances. Fire prevention demonstrations, hand outs for the kids, carnival games, face painting and a fire house bounce house are scheduled. Light snacks and drinks will also be provided. All are welcome to attend. Attendees may also be eligible for a free fire prevention basket to take home.
