OPA Voting Packages Mailed Next Month
Ocean Pines Association (OPA) will mail out the election ballots for the 2013 Board of Directors to its homeowners in good standing on July 12th. In accordance with the OPA By-laws, no member of the Association may vote if the member has failed to pay the annual charge, including any assessed interest levied by the Association. The payment deadline to satisfy the voter eligibility prerequisite is July 6th.
There are six candidates to fill three open positions on the Board of Directors. You can vote for no more than three of the following candidates and write-in candidates are not allowed:
- Tom Terry
- Les Purcell
- Ray Unger
- Roland Langevin
- Jack Collins
One election ballot and a postage-paid return envelope will be mailed for each Ocean Pines property that you own, regardless of the number of lot owners on the land record. These materials are mailed only to the first name(s) on the land record as registered with Worcester County.
Mailed ballots must be received by August 8th. Ballots maybe dropped off in the ballot box located inside the Police Station at the OPA Administration Building no later than 6 p.m. on August 8, 2013. Election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting to be held on August 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Ocean Pines Community Center located at 235 Ocean Parkway. If you are unable to attend the Annual Meeting, you should complete the Quorum Proxy form enclosed with your election materials and return the form in the enveloped marked Proxy.
