Marie Gilmore and James Spicknall, Co-Chairman of the Memorial Day Committee for the Worcester County Veterans Memorial, indicate that all is in readiness for the annual ceremony on Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Memorial site on Route 589 near the South Gate of Ocean Pines. Music, pageantry and patriotism will be the themes for the day.
Keynote speaker for the event will be COL Douglas A. Dods, USAR (Ret), Past Commander of the Maryland State Police Barracks in Berlin. He is currently employed at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Snow Hill, as the Operations Officer.
Patriotic music will be provided by Randy Lee Ashcraft, Dick Jacobs, The Delmarva Chorus and Ocean City Pipes and Drums.
The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend. Please bring lawn chairs. Parking is available on site. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Community Church at Ocean Pines on Race Track Road.
