Ocean Pines Holiday Activities for Kids

Breakfast with Santa 2013

Area children are invited to join the Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Department this holiday season for special activities designed especially for them.

Breakfast with Santa Claus & Friends, a long-standing Ocean Pines Christmas tradition, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 8 – 11 a.m. at the Ocean Pines Community Center, located at 235 Ocean Parkway in Ocean Pines.  The entire family can enjoy breakfast and take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus.  The cost is free for children ages 4 and under, $4 for children ages 5-10 and $6 for ages 11 and up. Donations of toys, books and puzzles on behalf of Believe in Tomorrow House by the Sea and Home of the Brave will be accepted at the event.

The Reindeer Lane Gift Shop, also held on Dec. 6 from 8-11 a.m. at the community center, is a holiday “store” where children ages 12 and under will be able to purchase gifts for family and friends.  Items for children and adults, all priced $2 and less, will be available.  Donations for the shop are also being accepted.

Kids can also explore their creativity at two holiday workshops.  On Sunday, Dec. 7 from noon to 3 p.m. they can decorate cookies inspired by a Christmas story.  This class is for ages 4-6 and is $10 for Ocean Pines residents and $15 for non-residents.  Then on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon, kids ages 4-8 can create Christmas ornaments.  All materials and instruction will be provided.  The cost is $15 for Ocean Pines residents and $20 for non-residents.  Both workshops will be held at the community center and require pre-registration.

At the Glamour Girl Holiday Spa Day, girls ages 4-10 will receive spa-like pampering, including manicures, pedicures, hair styling and makeup application.  The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 1-4 p.m. at the community center.  The cost is $15 for Ocean Pines residents and $20 for non-residents.  Glamour photos will be available for an additional charge.  Pre-registration is required.
