OP Buildings Closing at 4 pm

In anticipation of the impending winter storm, the Ocean Pines Community Center, Administration Building and Sports Core Pool will be closing at 4 pm today.

The latest information from Worcester County Emergency Services indicates that the winter storm warning remains in effect until midnight tonight.

* WINDS: NORTH WINDS OF 20 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 TO 45 MPH

THIS EVENING.

 

* TEMPERATURES AND WIND CHILL: TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW

FREEZING THIS AFTERNOON…THEN FALL INTO THE LOW TEENS BY EARLY

WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS AND COLD

TEMPERATURES WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILL VALUES AROUND 20 DEGREES

THIS AFTERNOON TO NEAR ZERO BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

 

* TIMING: LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN BY NOON TUESDAY…CONTINUING INTO

TUESDAY EVENING. THE PERIOD OF HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED

TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THE EVENING.

 

* IMPACTS…ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY. THE

COMBINATION OF SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL PRODUCE BLOWING SNOW

THAT WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY TO BELOW ONE MILE AT TIMES. TRAVEL

CONDITIONS WILL BECOME DANGEROUS THIS EVENING.
