Maryland Flag Order

Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the Maryland State Flag to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Thursday, November 20, 2014. This is in honor of Firefighter James E. Bethea, a 40-year veteran of the Baltimore City Fire Department, who died on November 12, 2014 as a result of injuries suffered in the line of duty. This action is taken under the Protocol for the United States and Maryland State Flag. Any questions on the above should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of State.
