Flag lowering in honor of Senator Daniel K. Inouye

Pursuant to President Obama’s Proclamation to lower the United States Flag in honor of Senator Daniel K. Inouye, President pro tempore of the United States Senate, who died yesterday, Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag to be flown at half-staff immediately. The flags are to remain lowered until sunset on the day of his interment. An additional notice will be sent out when the date of interment is released. This action is taken under the Protocol for the United States and Maryland State Flag. Any questions on the above should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of State.
