A Supply of Back-to-School Events, Programs: Most of the area students will soon head back to school and the Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Department has a backpack amount of fun activities, programs and bus trips for both children and adults. Staff within the recreation department believe fun should not become a seasonal offering on the Eastern Shore. Instead, they are serving year-round fun to residents and non-residents.
Ocean Pines will offer six-week soccer programs, for boys and girls ages 2-6, in September. The Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department has one striking goal this fall: to become Worcester County’s “central defender” of youth soccer programs. These programs are open to the public and registration (which is now underway) is required.
Boys and girls ages 4-6 will learn softball and baseball basics on Saturdays, from Sept. 15 – Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. Participants will practice hitting, running and throwing using special balls.
Open to the public. Also seeking volunteers.
Plus, parents and children, ages 18 month- 3 years-old, can join others for indoor playtime, music and movement. Your child will have the opportunity to play with balls, hula-hoops, tunnels and a giant parachute, games and slides.
Adults are invited to join in on the fun as well. The Center for Extended & Lifelong Learning at Salisbury University and the Ocean Pines Association have teamed up to bring “SU at the Beach!” A new sailing class, on Sept. 29 at the Yacht Club from 9 a.m. – noon, welcomes all who love sailing and anyone interested in learning!
