Yacht Club Name Contest Underway

OCEAN PINES, MD – Anyone will soon have the opportunity to determine the name for all or portions of the casual, waterfront grill and bar area that will be located inside the new Ocean Pines Yacht Club, currently under construction.

Through an earlier contest this summer, 466 submitted names have been narrowed down to three final names: Bayside Grille, submitted by Lynda Mintz; Mariner’s Cove, submitted by Doug Slingerland and Ocean Pines Dockside Grille, submitted by Jim Yates and Bert and Anna Oster.

The contest will run Nov. 1-Dec. 16 and is open to the public. Anyone may submit more than one name but only one name per ballot. There are no prizes for voting for the restaurant name; prizes were provided for the three finalist names chosen from entries this summer. The name that receives the most votes will be announced at a later date.
The ballot boxes are located in the 24 hour lobby of the Ocean Pines Administration office and at the Country Club. Ballots can be downloaded from www.oceanpines.org.
