The Ocean Pines Association has announced the winners of its annual “Light up the Pines” outdoor display contest. This year, area residents were given the chance to vote for all of the winners in the contest via an ‘Facebook’ ballot.
The home of Cara Straccione, located at 668 Ocean Parkway, received the most votes. The home of Tracy Hofman, located at 6 Brookton Lane, received the second most votes. In third place was the home of Mary and Dave Messina, located at 618 Ocean Parkway. The winners will be given a gift bag filled with goodies, a gift certificate for a Choptank Electric Cooperative bill credit, and a gift card good at ‘The Cove at Mumford’s.’
Hundreds of votes were cast in the contest. Voters had to ‘Like’ the Ocean Pines Association’s Facebook page, look for the “Light up the Pines” photo album, find their favorite home displays in the photo album and give a thumbs-up by ‘liking’ the picture. The photos with the most ‘Facebook Likes’ were top contenders.
Voting took place from Monday, Dec. 12 to Friday, Dec. 23.
